Extremely refined bas-relief in terracotta, carefully painted with engobes and modeled following the ancient techniques.
It depicts the supreme Greek god Zeus, who is wearing goat's horns, a symbol of the Egyptian Sun god Amun-Ra: Together with Osiris, Amun-Ra was the most powerful and beloved deity of ancient Egypt's Pantheon.
Ithaca's sculpture of Zeus Ammon is inspired by a Roman oscillum in marble, which dates back to the second century A.D. and is now preserved in Verona, Museo Archeologico.
Given its firing at about 1000° C, the sculpture can be placed outside and won't be damaged by sun, cold or ice.
