The elegant Horse's Head in terracotta, first colored with engobes and then fired at about 1000° C, was modeled and painted following ancient techniques. Thanks to its high firing can be placed outdoors. This Ithaca's relief is freely inspired by the Domizio Enobarbo altar, preserved in Munich, Glyptothek, but sculpted in Rome in 100 – 70 b.C, and depicts one of the sea horses of the Nereides, beautiful sea nymphs who attend the wedding of Poseidon and Anphitritis.
Given its firing at about 1000° C, the sculpture can be placed outside and won't be damaged by sun, cold or ice.
