Oscillum, in red

Elegant, handmade sculpture in terracotta, accurately painted with engobes, following ancient Roman techniques.

The oscilla were decorative elements and brought good luck, they were hung on trees outside the house to dangle in the wind. The elegant shape of the one reproduced by Ithaca finds its inspiration in the “peltae”, the small shields used in the Roman Army.

This "Oscillum", given its high firing, can be placed outside and won't be damaged by sun, cold or ice.
